SkinHairRx|Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) Treatment
At SkinHairRx, PRP treatment uses your body’s own blood platelets to stimulate repair and regeneration.
The procedure begins with a blood draw that is centrifuged to concentrate platelets in the plasma, creating PRP, which is subsequently administered to the targeted area through microneedling and/or direct injection.
Human blood is composed of four primary components:
Plasma
Red blood cells (RBCs)
White blood cells (WBCs)
Platelets
PRP consists of concentrated platelets suspended in plasma. When activated, these platelets release growth factors that support tissue repair, remodeling, and enhance regeneration.
Role in skin rejuvenation and under-eye care
PRP stimulates collagen, softens fine lines and scars, improves tone and radiance. In the delicate under-eye area, it may also help reduce dark circles, fine lines, and mild puffiness.
Typical regimen: 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart, with maintenance every 12–24 months.
Role in hair restoration
PRP strengthens follicles, prolongs the growth phase, and supports scalp health, encouraging denser, thicker hair.
Typical regimen: At least 3 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart (often 6 treatments over 3 months), with maintenance every 3–6 months.
Important considerations:
PRP works best as an adjunct therapy alongside other treatments. Evidence continues to evolve, with research refining candidate selection, dosing, and protocols. Individual responses may vary.
